They’re called Shift Moonwalkers, and they kind of look like those plastic strap-on Fischer Price roller skates for kids if they were the adult version. That’s because they’re not really shoes at all, but you put them over your shoes. They’re kind of ugly, but when I first heard about them, I definitely expected uglier.
It’s kind of like when you’re walking on the walking escalator at the airport. The shoes use AI to adapt how you walk, so you’re not falling all over the place. You don’t skate in them, you just walk. So they’re not like roller skates or those Heely shoes.
