APPLETON, Wis. — A mixture of pool chemicals forces an evacuation of an Appleton facility.
Crews were called to Appleton YMCA in the 200 block of E. Lawrence Street around 11:45 a.m. Sunday on the report of a person having trouble breathing.
When crews arrived, multiple people reported similar issues and the smell of chlorine.
An investigation found that pool chemicals were mixed, resulting in a reaction and a release of chlorine. The chemicals were taken out of the building and disposed.
No injuries were reported.
