WAUPACA, Wis–An Iola couple is facing criminal charges after their two year daughter dies in a homemade bed. Cody Deschler and Emily Ferg are facing counts of Child Neglect Causing Death in Waupaca County Court.
According to the criminal complaint, the child was sleeping in a bed that featured too much space between the slats, allowing the girl to become wedged between them and suffocate back in June. Deschler and Ferg face up to 25-years in prison if convicted.
