Ok, here we go. We are doing this. In three days, we are back, and we get to put these past six months behind us, but if I am being honest, I don’t want to put that time behind us.
I want to remember it for what it was. The past six months have been chaotic, they have been frustrating- filled with some anger, and even more tears but in that time, we got the honor of seeing the beauty amongst the mess. Look, we all know the quote from Mr Rodgers…the one about the helpers. His mom always taught him “In times of fear, look for the helpers. You will always find people who are helping.” And that is exactly what Nick and I did. We looked for the helpers, and man, you guys showed up for us. This time has been humbling beyond measure and I wish we knew a better way to show our gratitude.
Thank you to all of our fantastic fill-ins who kept our spots warm for us. You guys are the true heroes of this story. We didn’t know how this was going to work sitting out six months and watching someone play our part is hard. But you guys made it easy. You took care of our roles. You respected our roles, and it was an honor to hand those roles over to you all for safekeeping. You made your schedules work, you sacrificed time with your family and friends, and let’s be honest, sacrificed your sleep. This is the epitome of kindness and selflessness and we appreciate you more than you can ever express. We genuinely could not have done this without you.
And now to the next thank you. Our listeners. Our community. You guys have shown nothing but patience and support. Your kindness has been overwhelming and we will do our best to meet your expectations. We are ready to move forward from this experience, but not without learning something from it. So you can take this with a grain of salt if you’d like, but I can promise you that we are surrounded with a pretty amazing community. A community that shows up for each other. And kindness goes longer than you will ever know. I truly believe kindness always comes full circle, so for all of the people who have supported us, we are coming your way!
