Women have spoken, and Uber is listening. Per a press release from the ride-share giant, “women riders and drivers have told us they want the option to be matched with other women on trips. We’ve heard them—and now we’re introducing new ways to give them even more control over how they ride and drive.”
More choice. More control. Women told us they wanted the option to be matched with other women—and we listened.

Now, after piloting these features in dozens of countries, we're bringing Women Preferences to the US.

Uber is calling it “Women Preferences,” and soon, at three pilot locations, female riders will be able to set their preferences to “Woman Driver” in their app settings. Withing that setting, they will be able to request a woman driver and even reserve a woman driver in advance. Female drivers will also be able to unlock “Woman Rider Preferences” in their app settings, allowing them to customize passenger partiality.
In the coming weeks, the pilot program will begin in Los Angeles, San Francisco, and Detroit.
