APPLETON, Wis. — An Appleton man will spend 16 years in prison for his role in an armed robbery at a rare coin store.
Michael Thorpe is also sentenced in Outagamie County Court to 11 years on extended supervision for being party to armed robbery and substantial battery.
Thorpe was one of three men who robbed Affordable Rare Coins in Grand Chute back in August of last year. A clerk was beaten with a wrench during the holdup.
The other two suspects are awaiting trial.
