For most, news of the engagement of Taylor Swift to Travis Kelce does not mark a “where were you when?” moment. However, in the case of CBS News White House Correspondent, Olivia Rinaldi, she’ll never forget. Rinaldi went full-on fangirl from the White House lawn, comparing her role in breaking the news to that of the “Midnight Rider,” and it’s pretty hilarious:

Purely organic and spontaneous, this is such a great piece of tongue-in-cheek journalism by Rinaldi. The studio is desperately trying to redirect to “serious” news, and I think that’s what makes this so brilliant. Rinaldi just keeps at it. Regardless of one’s interest or disdain or indifference about anything Swift-Kelce, this is a fantastic reminder to all to lighten up and get back to simple joys.
