It’s password creation 101 – make it as complicated as possible, right? Well, that is unless you’re protecting priceless pieces of art. If you’re the Musee du Louvre in Paris, France, the most visited museum in the world, don’t overthink it. In fact, go with something so frighteningly simple that access is not only possible, it’s all but guaranteed!
Details continue to surface after the shocking heist in which, in broad daylight and in a mere seven minutes’ time, thieves broke in to the Louvre and made off with jewels valued in excess of $100 million. The answer to the question, “How is this possible?,” is not a singular declaration, though the most recent ingredient to the criminals’ recipe for success is a pinch of the shockingly obvious and absurd. Perhaps the thought was that no one would possily suspect something so conspicuous. That’s right, per a Louve employee, the security surveillance password at the time of the robbery was…wait for it (though you’ve likely already guessed it) … “Louvre.”
