GRAND CHUTE, Wis. — One person is dead following a police standoff at a Grand Chute hotel.
Officers were called to the Double Tree by Hilton Tuesday afternoon after an officer spotted a vehicle belonging to an individual being sought by the Winnebago County Sheriff’s Office.
The person had barricaded themselves in their room and was armed with a gun.
Several floors of the hotel were evacuated while officers attempted to contact the individual.
After more than five hours of negotiations, officers entered the room and found the person dead.
No additional information has been released.
