APPLETON, Wis. — The Fox Cities community is invited to gather for the 35th annual Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Celebration at Lawrence University.
The annual event takes place on Monday, January 19, 2026, from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. at Lawrence Memorial Chapel. This annual event honors the life, legacy, and enduring impact of Dr. King through music, reflection, and community connection.
The evening will feature keynote speaker Dr. Sam Coleman and a special guest performance by Sam Thousand. Musical and dance performances will be presented by members of the Lawrence University Dance Team and Afro Fusion, The Omoladé Academy, and the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Community Choir.
The celebration will also include the presentation of the Jane LaChapelle McCarty Unity in Diversity MLK Community Leader Award and the MLK Educator Award.
