When it comes to a Disney/Pixar presentation, there is always a story behind the story. That is to say, they never stop at the headline. What draws us to the theater is rarely all with what we are left on our way out. When it comes to any series, take 5 is generally long past “straight-to-streaming” designation, but the “Toy Story” franchise just keeps on delivering humorous and relatable depth to the masses that has (pretty much) all of us fired up for another trip to Marcus this summer.
When you watch the trailer, it’s fairly easy to sum up on the surface – Toys vs. Tech – but like I said, it always more than topical analysis when it comes to Disney/Pixar. Like a Seinfeld episode, the best moments generally lie in the periphery of the subtext. I’m really excited to see where this goes and how they handle it. I’m mostly exited to see all the adult gems they sprinkle in…like this one. Looks like Woody is just like us:
