WINNEBAGO COUNTY, Wis. — Five people are hurt in a multiple vehicle crash along Interstate 41 allegedly caused by a wrong-way driver.
The Winnebago County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a vehicle heading south in the northbound lanes near Winneconne Avenue late Friday night.
As deputies tried to stop the pickup truck, the driver used a highway crossover to head north in the southbound lanes. The truck then collided with four other vehicles before finally coming to a stop.
Five people were taken to the hospital by helicopter and ambulance. There are no details on their conditions.
Criminal charges are pending.
