The decision by three airlines to drop a $200 fee to change tickets is great for customers, but not for the airlines themselves.
That’s the feeling of Patrick Tracey, a spokesman for Appleton International Airport. He says the fee was added years ago to generate more revenue, and travelers definitely didn’t like it.
Tracey doesn’t think American, Delta, or United would have made the change, if there wasn’t a pandemic. He says the airlines stand to lose a lot of revenue, but they’re trying to do what they can to encourage people to start traveling again.
