Two events will mark Indigenous Peoples Day in Appleton. A tree donated by the Menominee Nation will be planted in Ellen Kort Park at 1:00 this (Monday) afternoon. Governor Tony Evers will be on hand for that ceremony. At 5:30 tonight, Lawrence University will dedicate a new sculpture from an Oneida Nation sculptor and rename the plaza where it sits after its indigenous Menominee name.
