The De Pere School District changes some of its COVID-19 protocols just days after being sued by a parent. The school board approves a new policy that will not require kids in elementary school to quarantine if they are a close contact of a positive case–so long as they are not showing symptoms and had been wearing a mask. That now matches the protocol for kids in middle and high school. The change comes after a parent who is a substitute teacher in De Pere sued the district, claiming the quarantine protocols were forcing too many kids to miss too many days of in-person instruction. A hearing on a requested injunction is scheduled for November 1st.
