The Oconto County Sheriff’s office is releasing more information about a fatal plane crash.
The pilot is a 67-year-old man from Grand Prairie, Texas. Sheriff Todd Skarban says NORAD, the North American Aerospace Defense Command had been watching the plane after being called about an unresponsive pilot. The agency employs a layered defense network of radars, satellites and fighter planes to identify aircraft and determine appropriate response. The NORAD plane did not use any weapons or tactics to bring the plane down. The FAA and the Brown County Medical Examiners office are investigating. The plane and pilot were found Wednesday around 6:30 p.m. between Highway G and Highway K in the Town of Maple Valley.
