A fundraiser is underway to help preteens and teenagers removed from their home because of abuse or neglect.
Wisconsin Court Appointed Special Advocates Association known as CASA is looking for basic hygiene necessities, socks, underwear, pillows and blankets. Director Kelly Schwartz says they’re also hoping for small luggage, which will hold the items CASA plans to donate to needy children.
She says the idea is to provide them with a little comfort. According to Schwartz many children have to carry their belongs in a garbage bag.
According to Schwartz, over 7,000 children in the state are removed from a home on a daily basis. The donation drive ends New Year’s Eve.
