A step-father’s perceived good deed lands both him and his step-daughter in trouble with the law. A 20-year old Milwaukee woman was arrested for drunk driving in Fond du Lac County early in the morning of New Year’s Eve day. She was released to her step-father after being processed at the jail. The 36-year old Menomonee Falls man allegedly took the woman back to her car–allowed her to drive–and followed her very closely down the road. A Washington County Sheriff’s deputy spotted the pair tailgating and driving erratically along Interstate 41 around 3:15 a-m. He attempted to pull up behind the first car–but the step-father would not let the squad car in. The two did not pull over immediately after the deputy activated his flashing lights–and when they did–again the step-father would not let the squad between the vehicles. He admitted to letting the woman drive again and was following her to make sure she didn’t crash. The step-daughter was arrested again for O-W-I–while the step-father will also face charges.
