Next year’s Oshkosh school calendar will feature a day off for a Muslim holiday. Director of Learning Kim Brown says Friday, April 21st will be a day off for students and staff to mark Eid Al-Fitr–the end of Ramadan. This is the first time that day will be a holiday in the district calendar. The district is also eliminating early dismissal days next year. For years, the district has sent kids home early one or two days a month so teachers could have collaboration time. Brown says the next school calendar will feature no shorter days–and more Fridays off for the same purpose.
