Assembly Majority Leader Jim Steineke of Vandenbroeck will not seek reelection this year. Steineke says he believes the time is right for a passing of the torch to allow others in the community to serve. Steineke was elected to represent the 5th Assembly District in 2010–becoming majority leader in 2014. Steineke says he recently decided it was time to move on.
As of today, Steineke says has not lined up anything as far as a private sector career. He also says he’s looking forward to being a private citizen, husband and father again.
