The Winnebago County Sheriff’s Department is seeing limited success in filling gaps in the patrol and jail divisions. The department saw a number of resignations and few applicants to replace them. Sheriff John Matz says recent budget resolutions have stemmed those losses, although recruiting efforts will continue.
Sheriff Matz says recruiting efforts are also being focused outside of Wisconsin.
Sheriff Matz says there are currently three people in training for patrol deputies and five people undergoing instruction for jail positions.
