The DNR is placing new restrictions on a Kewaunee County dairy farm. Kinnard Farms will be required to monitor groundwater for manure contamination. Kinnard will also be limited to its current herd size of 8,000 cows. The new restrictions come after a lawsuit filed by the group Clean Wisconsin–which successfully argued that the DNR has the authority to require groundwater monitoring and herd limits for Concentrated Animal Feeding Operations.
