GREEN BAY, Wis. — A man who shot at officers in the parking lot of the Oneida Police Department is sentenced to 12 years in prison.
Oneida police officers found Carl J. King acting erratic outside his vehicle when they arrived at police headquarters on Feb. 21, 2021.
As an officer approached, King leaned inside his vehicle an appeared to reach for something. The officer moved back toward his patrol car while also giving King verbal commands.
King pulled out a hand gun and began firing. The officer returned fire, striking King, who dropped his weapon.
King was treated at a hospital and later jailed for Attempted Homicide-First Degree.
