The day has come. Today we say good bye to our old friend Internet Explorer. After 26 years IE will now live in a digital graveyard. That digital graveyard is full of old friends like Netscape, Ask Jeeves, Prodigy, AltaVista, Excite, Lycos and AOL’s AIM. Those are just a few that I can remember. I’m sure more will pop up in my brain later as I eulogize IE.
Sure IE was a big pile of dog crap and full of bugs, but it was also my go to source for the naughty stuff in the 90s. Thanks to dial-up it would take 30 minutes to see that one Alicia Silverstone beach photo, and Internet Explorer was there with me the whole step of the way.
R.I.P old friend. You’ll be missed. Thanks to the internet, we can always remember IE with videos like this.
