Happy National Hot Dog Day. Yup, today we celebrate the pig’s lips and asshole…butthole. I have three go to spots for a hot dog. The Chicago Grill in Appleton (SO GOOD) and the other two are in Chicago. Gene and Jude’s (never ask them for ketchup and don’t run across the lot to Mickey D’s to get some) and The Wiener Circle.
I was drunk and 22 when I visited the Wiener Circle for the first time and it was a crazy and glorious experience. I can’t describe in words what this place is or does. Luckily, I don’t have to because a few years ago Conan sent Triumph the Insult Dog to check it out.
