Business in the front, party in the back! These dudes have some great flow going on, and they’re hoping to land your vote and be crowned champions!
Let me introduce you to the two boys who will be representing Wisconsin in the USA Mullet Championships.

First up, we have 5-year-old Axel Wenzel from Brillion. In a straight-up rockstar move, if Axel wins, he plans on donating his prize money to the Brillion Nature Center reptile exhibit. This guy is 100% danger, 200% class act.

Now entering the ring, 13-year-old Max Weihbrecht from West De Pere! If Max is crowned Mullet Champ, he plans to put the prize money toward his dream truck… a 1974, square body, red, Chevy pickup. Kid’s got style and he knows what he wants.
Both local kids have been working on their mullets for the past couple of years in hopes to bring the USA Mullet Championship to Green Bay! Both Max and Axel’s fathers work for the Green Bay Metro Fire Department.
The USA Mullet Championship is a national competition in search of the best kid and teen mullets in the country. The entry fee was $10, half of which is donated to Maggie’s Wigs 4 Kids of Michigan. There were 689 total contestants this year and our two local dudes managed to win their way into the finals with their glorious locks.
The grand prize winner of the kid’s division will receive $2500 and a pair of Pit Viper sunglasses, and the grand prize for the teen division is $1000 and a pair of Pit Viper sunglasses. The top 3 finalists in each division win cash prizes as well as the sunglasses.
Now all the boys need is your VOTE!
Both boys are in two separate divisions and not competing with each other, so you can vote for both! Voting for the final round will take place from Monday, August 15 until Friday, August 19 at 11:59 p.m. EST. A person is allowed one vote per 24 hours, per email address; however, people can vote through multiple email addresses. All voting is done via the website MulletChamp.com. A vote is conducted by entering an email address, scrolling to find Max and Axel’s pictures, then clicking on ‘Vote.’ The images will be randomized each day so you may need to do a little searching.
Let’s bring the championship to Green Boy, boys! Good luck!
