The NFL confirmed this weekend that Rihanna will perform as the headliner for the 2023 Superbowl at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona on February 12th.
The self-made billionaire will surely be a huge draw to the halftime show. Over the last 20 or so years, Rihanna has had multiple bangers at a consistent rate, bringing home a ton of awards, including 9 Grammys and the “Icon” award at the 2013 American Music Awards.
We all know Rihanna won’t be taking the stage solo. It’s common practice for the headliners over the years to bring in fellow artists they’ve collaborated with, and Rihanna has A LOT. Here’s who I think would be the best, and most likely to share the World’s biggest stage this coming Super Bowl.
Jay Z
This one seems like a no-brainer. Jay Z had a huge hand in taking Rihanna and elevating her career. I could see a Rihanna/Jay Z medley of Umbrella, Run This Town, and Talk That Talk.
Eminem
Hear me out! I know this one is rather unlikely since Eminem was a co-headliner in last year’s Superbowl, Em And RiRi have some solid jams together like Monster, and Love The Way You Lie.
Drake
Rihanna and Drake just seem together like peanut butter & jelly, don’t they?! With the likes of What’s My Name?, Too Good, Take Care, & Work.
Kanye West
This one kind of seems unlikely, because… well, you just never know anything with Ye. But, also, that’s what makes this kind of likely. I’ don’t know. They do have some jams I wouldn’t mind seeing, not only because they’re good songs, but also, what’s Kanye gonna do/say? First of all, Run This Town featured Kanye, Rihanna AND Kanye, so that would be a perfect trifecta. The pair have also worked on the songs All of The Lights, FOURFIVESECONDS, and Famous.
A$SAP Rocky
This would absolutely not shock me at all. A$AP Rocky and Rihanna have been dating together for a while now, as well as recently having a child together. Rihanna reportedly is working on a new album, witch will surely feature A$AP Rocky, so it would be the perfect opportunity to showcase new music. They also worked together on the 2012 hit Cockiness (Love It).
Calvin Harris
I can definitely see this. Though, C.H. is not exactly the biggest or most flashy name on this list, I think it makes sense to have a DJ up on the stage with her. Calvin and RiRi also have some absolute club bops such as We Found Love and This Is What We Came For.
Britney Spears
This one might be a stretch but I AM HERE FOR IT. First of all, Britney is now free and is no longer under her conservatorship. Britney and Rihanna worked together on the S&M Remix. Imagine that… okay anyways. Britney has said she doesn’t care to perform ever again, but it’s the Super Bowl, so who knows! (Fingers Crossed!!)
Out of all of those, likely or not, I think my top 4 would be Eminem, Kanye, Britney Spears, and Drake. No official word has been announced on other performers, and I’m sure that there won’t be, but I think it’s safe to say this is should be a Super Bowl Halftime Show to remember!
