Miley Cyrus has won me over throughout the years. She’s solidified herself as an incredible musical talent, even hosting her own New Year’s Eve special on NBC. And it was great.
Recently Miley released her brand new single “Flowers” and the very first time I heard it, I had this feeling of, “I feel like I’ve heard this before,” but couldn’t put my finger on it.
Then the song started getting some buzz. Remember the song, “When I Was Your Man” by Bruno Mars? It’s about a man realizing how he wasn’t the best man and screwed up and treated his woman wrong. Well, word on the street is that her former husband, Liam Hemsworth, actually dedicated that song to her on their wedding day. If that’s true… weird song choice, but… ok.
Fast forward to today. Miley and Liam are divorced with rumors of Liam cheating. Miley’s new single is out and kind of savage/genius, in which it plays off of Bruno Mars’ “When I Was Your Man”, almost like a follow-up to the song. Oh, and she released it on Liam Hemsworth’s birthday. Masterful.
