I know this may come as a shock to you all, but I’m only 5’6”.
I’ve been this height for was seems close to 30 years of my life
I was growin’ so good too when I was younger. I was just as tall as most of my friends through grade school and middle school. Then I entered 8th grade and that was it. I had reached my max. I started growing outwards instead of upwards.
Despite this, I’ve never really wanted to be taller.
Except when I wanted to be a basketball player in grade/middle school.
I’ve also never really done anything to try and make myself taller or appear taller. No platform shoes, no walking around on my tippy toes & certainly no standing on a box or step when taking pictures
But with medical science, short men no longer have to go through great lengths to get taller. All they need is surgery.
That’s right, for between $75,000 & $170,000 you can get leg lengthening surgery.
The requests for this are up 2 times what it was 3 years ago.
Even guys in their 60’s are requesting this because “the short jokes keep coming and they feel inferior.”
Like please, grow up. Oh wait, you genetically couldn’t.
This process takes several months of physical therapy before the patient can walk normally without a walker, crutches or cane.
One 26-year-old that went from 5’7” to 5’10” (like that’s a huge difference anyway) said, “If all it is, is pain and money, alright. Then it’s worth it.”
Listen, if I’m paying $170,000 and not walking right for several months, I better be touching rim. And not that kind of rim, either.
All I’m saying is that’s gotta look goofy as hell. You get 3 extra inches on your legs, but the rest of you stays the same.
All of a sudden you start lookin’ like a stilt person.
