The Resch Center has been very kind to the Green Bay Blizzard this season. Saturday afternoon was no exception, as the team used a 21-point second quarter to pace a 42-22 blowout victory over the visiting Tulsa Oilers, improving to 4-1 at home and 5-2 overall.
Blizzard QB, Max Meylor, tossed three touchdown passes and accounted for two more on the ground, and the IFL league-leading defense again flexed its muscles, holding their opponent to under 25 points for the third time this season. Green Bay has surrendered just 228 total points in 2024, a 33 point cushion over the next closest team, the Massachusetts Pirates. The Blizzard’s 32.6 points-per-game allowed is the best in the IFL.
The victory sets up a Eastern Conference battle for the top this Saturday when the 6-1 Frisco Fighters fly into town. Kickoff is slated for 3:05pm at the Resch Center.
