Guess who’s back? Slim Shady!
This morning, at the stroke of midnight, Eminem dropped the first single off of his upcoming album, The Death of Slim Shady (Coup De GrĂ¢ce).
The video shows Slim Shady returning, only to realize he’s in a different world than he remembers with emojis, selfie sticks, AI robots, virtual reality, and the general ridiculousness of what the world has become.
Slim then crosses paths with Superhero Eminem from the 2002 video “Without Me,” who tries to stop Slim Shady but, instead, accidentally creates a hybrid version of the two of them. Hilarity ensures.
Classic Slim with references to Megan Thee Stallion getting shot in the foot, R Kelly, Machine Gun Kelly. There are also a ton of hilarious cameos from Shane Gillis, Snoop Dogg, and Pete Davidson, and more.
“Houdini” is the first track on Eminem’s upcoming 12th studio album, which has a lot of people talking. With the title “The Death of Slim Shady,” does that mean Em is moving on from Slim? Does it mean this new hybrid Slim/Super Eminem is his new persona? Will the new album be so uncensored and outrageous like The Slim Shady LP?
So many questions, but as a die-hard fan, I am 100% here for it! I cannot wait until the album drops, which is… sometime in 2024. Yeah, that’s all we know.
Cheers.
