WASHINGTON — Appleton and Green Bay can move forward with some public transit projects through grants from the Federal Transit Administration.
The City of Appleton will receive $12 million for Valley Transit’s Whitman Facility renovation. The project will update bus maintenance bays, add new fueling and wash lanes and add an expanded bus storage area.
The City of Green Bay is getting nearly $3.12 million to replace diesel-powered buses with battery electric buses and charging equipment. Those upgrades are expected to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and maintenance costs.
