Shooting incident on Appleton’s south side under investigation

APPLETON, WI — Appleton Police are investigating a shooting incident this afternoon on the city’s south side. Officers were called to the 300 block of W. Valley Road just before noon for reports of gunfire and multiple individuals involved fleeing the scene. Several police agencies assisted Appleton Police in canvassing the surrounding neighborhoods. Officers recovered physical evidence from the scene and conducted interviews. No injuries were reported in this incident. Appleton Police say the shooting incident appears to be an isolated occurrence and there is no ongoing threat to the community.
