OSHKOSH, Wis. — Members of the Oshkosh Fire Department will be putting in longer shifts starting next year.
The department is going from a 24 hours-on/24 hours-off schedule to 48 hours-on/96 hours-off.
Mayor Matt Mugerauer is concerned about burnout on that schedule………..
Fire chief Tim Heiman says the new schedule is actually better for recovery………..
The new shifts are part of a three-year contract with the Oshkosh Fire Department union.
