If you haven’t yet carved-up your pumpkins for Halloween, this one’s for you! If you’ve already got the porch front display worked up, keep this one in your back pocket for 2026.
Prepping your pumpkin for carving can be a stressful endeavor. How do you get that drawing onto the surface to guide your steady hand to pumpkin prestige? There are a lot of methods one can employ, but the easiest and least error prone approach (that I’ve found, anyway) utilizes something you likely have sitting in your office junk drawer of pens, pencils, paper clips, rubber bands, refrigerator magnets, needle nose pliers, and loose staples (we’ve all got one of those drawers, right?). Find a dry erase marker and get to drawing!
The dry erase marker goes on the surface perfectly and wipes off cleanly, so don’t sweat the mistakes. Get it just how you want it, and carve away!
