MADISON, Wis. — The state Department of Justice releases the names of those involved in an officer-involved death in Marinette County this month.
Niagara Police Officer Rhianna Carne tried to stop Steve Mecklenburg in the city on Nov. 5 when Mecklenburg reportedly sped off.
He swerved into oncoming traffic, hit a commercial vehicle and died at the scene.
Carne, who has two years of law enforcement experience, was placed on administrative leave.
An investigation continues.
