APPLETON, Wis. — An Appleton man will spend eight years in prison for taking part in a robbery at a rare coin store.
Cory Schmitz is also sentenced in Outagamie County Court to eight years on extended supervision for being party to armed robbery.
Schmitz was one of three men accused of robbing Affordable Rare Coins in August of 2024. The store clerk was struck in the head with a wrench during that holdup.
The two other men, Beau Wastel and Michael Thorpe, are already serving prison terms.
