One of the biggest grants from a large fund through the Community Foundation for the Fox Valley Region will recognize the sacrifices of veterans.
The Fox Cities Veterans Village in Grand Chute is receiving $500,000 to create a veterans memorial.
Mike Thomas of Appleton is involved with the housing project, and he says they need to develop a design and decide the best location for it, inside the village. He wants the Nelson family to be involved through the process.
The David and Rita Nelson Family Fund is handing out grants worth $3.8 million.
