A leader in Harrison believes the Village Hall is still structurally sound, after a 17-year-old boy drove a pickup truck through a wall last night.
Village Administrator Travis Parish says the entire truck ended up in the board room of the building. He believes the teen was lucky that he hit a large window with bricks underneath it. Otherwise, he thinks the boy could’ve had a lot of injuries.
The hole is boarded up, and Parish says the village board will use that room tonight for its monthly meeting. He says they’re talking with an insurance company to fix the wall.
The Village Hall is at the corner of Highway 114 and State Park Road.
Lt. Eric Voland of the Calumet County Sheriff’s Department says the teen was speeding on State Park Road, around 11:30 p.m. last night. He wasn’t hurt.
