Police in Green Bay continue to have to rescue dogs from hot cars this summer.
Capt. Kevin Warych says the latest case was last Friday at Lambeau Field. He says a medium-sized hunting dog was left in a car, with each window rolled down about three inches. With a 75-degree temperature, and the humidity, he says it would’ve been 118 degrees inside, within one hour.
Officers were able to unlock a door, and get the dog out.
Just a couple of weeks earlier, a dog died after a 55-year-old Lawrence woman left the golden retriever in the hot car for three hours.
Warych says on July 4th, officers had to break a window to rescue a dog from a car parked at Home Depot on S. Taylor Street.
Dog owners can face a fine of $376 for mistreating an animal.
