When the deer hunting season starts, the DNR wants to have more options for hunters to help prevent the spread of chronic wasting disease.
Wildlife Biologist Jeff Pritzl says they’re looking for more locations for kiosks and dumpsters. If hunters leave their deer heads in a freezer, at a kiosk, they can get it tested.
Pritzel says hunters can also put the carcass of their deer in DNR dumpsters. He says they could inadvertently spread CWD, by putting the carcass somewhere outside.
