Crews have to take extra steps to be safe when responding to things like Sunday’s house explosion in Manawa.
Jonathan Ladwig is the Fire Training Coordinator at Northeast Wisconsin Technical College in Green Bay. He says there could be gas leaks or live wires, and they have to make sure crews stay safe while working.
Dozens of firefighters from several departments went to the scene by the intersection of Highways N and T. The explosion killed 64-year-old Mark Zielke and threw debris about 500 feet.
Investigators are looking into what caused the blast.
