Construction is scheduled to start today on Highway 114 between Sherwood and Hilbert in Calumet County.
DOT spokesman Mark Kantola says they have to close the road from Highway 55 to Highway 32-57 for about two weeks. He says they’ll be milling and overlaying asphalt as well as excavating culverts. He says they’ll also add a new center line and shoulder rumble strips.
Highway B will be the official detour. When the highway reopens, crews will use flaggers for the rest of the project. The work is expected to be done by the end of next month.
