An Appleton advocacy group is joining forces with a group from Milwaukee to call for drivers licenses for illegal immigrants.
They’re holding an event at the Menasha library tonight.
Connie Raether of ESTHER believes it’s important for safety. She says they would have to take a drivers test, and they’d also be able to get car insurance.
She says members of Voces de la Frontera in Milwaukee are touring the state to talk about the issue.
Tonight’s meeting at the Menasha library starts at 6 p.m. Members of the Mexican consulate will also be there.
