A report shows more people in Wisconsin are dying of drug and alcohol problems and a director of a local program thinks the overall issues with alcohol are being downplayed.
Lynn McLaughlin is with the Neenah-based Apricity. She says it wasn’t surprising, especially around the alcohol use. She says drug use has been on the rise with the opioid epidemic.
The Wisconsin Policy Forum is reporting statewide death rates from drugs more than quadrupled between 1999 and 2017. Alcohol rates almost doubled over that same time.
