Two Fox Cities groups that connect young people with mentors are combining.
Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Fox Valley Region will merge with Best Friends of Neenah Menasha at the start of the new year.
Lindsay Fenlon of Big Brothers Big Sisters says when that happens, they’ll have about 600 kids working with mentors. She says there are around 150 people on their combined waiting list, and another 100 on a secondary list.
Fenlon believes the merger makes sense because their missions are very similar.
The two organizations are partnering with consultants to work through the details. They started studying the possibility last year.
The new group will be called Big Brothers Big Sisters of East Central Wisconsin.
