Months after asking the community for help finding a kidney a disabled veteran might have a match.
Michael Scott goes to the Green Bay VA for treatment three times a week. He put signs on his truck hoping to find a donor. He was also featured by our TV partner, Action 2 News, in March. After that story aired Scott says a lot of people reached out to him.
One of them was Amy Henning of Shawano. She says donating a kidney was something she always thought about doing. That along with her passion for helping veterans made her want to try.
It turns out Henning is a match, but they need one more blood test before they can move forward with the surgery. They could go to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania next month for the transplant.
