The City of Appleton is making some security improvements at the downtown library, and they include 10 new cameras.
Director Colleen Rortvedt says those cameras will take care of some blind spots in the building. She says it will be easier to keep an eye on what going on in a place that has tall book stacks.
The city is spending $175,000 on a number of improvements, after reviewing the security setup in the building. They include new alarms and door locks.
The city would be able to move some of the equipment to a new library, in the future.
