Another rural intersection now has rumble strips.
Brown County Highway Commissioner Paul Fontecchio wanted them at Highways VV and U by the Outagamie County line after a crash in June. A pickup truck driver ran a stop sign and hit a school bus. The bus driver was hurt but the students weren’t.
Fontecchio says the rumble strips went in last week. He says if someone isn’t paying attention, they’ll look up when they hit the first rumble and then see the stop sign ahead.
Brown County plans to have rumble strips at nearly two dozen intersections by the end of next year.
