Fox Valley Technical College is using some partnerships to help students in the new veterinary technician program.
Agriculture Department Chair Lori Nagel says they’ll be working with animals at the Fox Valley Humane Association, and the horses that are used for Rawhide’s therapy program.
Students can train on farm animals, through a deal with Wichman Farms, north of Appleton.
Nagel calls it a win-win, because the students can get the training they need, and their partners will benefit.
The two-year vet tech program launched last week, and there are about two dozen students in the first group.
